Family-run customs clearing and forwarding agents based in Durban, serving South African importers and exporters since 2019.
We started Everest because importers wanted personal, dedicated service.
Being given the run-around. Costs that weren’t clear. Quotes with “TBC” line items. Clearing agents who didn’t know your shipment was sitting at the port. Our founder saw all of this first-hand — first as an importer running a small distribution business, then as an operations manager at one of the larger Durban freight houses — and saw what importers actually wanted: someone who knew their cargo and picked up the phone.
So in 2019, we set out to give them exactly that. Family-run. Owner-led. Based in Verulam, 25 minutes from Durban port. Small enough that someone always answers the phone. Networked enough to move cargo from anywhere to anywhere through our agent partners worldwide.
Today we serve importers and exporters across all freight modes — sea, air, road, project cargo, warehousing. We’re SARS-accredited. We submit customs entries via EDI directly. And we still answer the phone when it rings.
