Who We Are

Family-run, owner-led, Durban-based.

We started Everest Shipping in 2019 because importers were tired of being on hold. We’re small enough that someone always answers, and networked enough through our agent partners to move cargo from anywhere to anywhere.

Honest pricing

Trade Lanes

Cargo to and from Durban — from anywhere on the map.

Through partnerships with shipping lines, airlines, and forwarding agents worldwide, we route cargo between South Africa and major trade lanes daily.

What Clients Say

Trusted by importers, exporters, and SADC traders.

From single-pallet first-time importers to mining houses moving heavy equipment across borders — we work with all of them the same way.

Their quote came back the same day — itemised, with the actual landed cost. The container cleared customs without a single query. After three years using one of the big freight houses, switching to Everest was the best decision we made for our import operations.

We move spares to a copper mine in Zambia twice a month. Beitbridge can be a nightmare — Everest handles the COMESA paperwork, the customs entries on both sides, and follows the truck. Our delivery times into Lusaka have come down by four to five days on average.

First time I imported anything, ever. One LCL shipment from Shanghai to start a small online business. Three other brokers wouldn’t even quote me because the volume was too small. Everest walked me through every step, told me upfront what duties to expect, and the goods arrived on the date they said.

Frequently Asked

Common questions about importing
and clearing through Durban.

Quick answers to the questions we hear most often. For specific shipment scenarios, just call us.

For a clean entry with correct paperwork and no inspection, sea freight clears in 24–48 hours from when documents are with us. Air freight is typically same-day or next morning. SARS inspections add 3–7 working days depending on the type of intervention.
Yes — small accounts are genuinely welcome. We don’t have a minimum shipment size. Whether you’re moving one pallet for the first time or fifty containers a month, you’re a real client. We’ll walk you through the process if it’s your first time.
At minimum: commercial invoice, packing list, and bill of lading (sea freight) or air waybill (air freight). Depending on what you’re importing, you may also need a certificate of origin, an import permit (for restricted commodities like food, medicines, electronics), or technical documentation. We handle the SAD500 customs declaration. Send us your supplier docs and we’ll tell you what’s missing.
Yes. We handle cross-border road freight to all SADC countries: Zimbabwe (via Beitbridge), Mozambique (via Lebombo or Ressano Garcia), Botswana (via Skilpadshek), Zambia (via Beitbridge to Chirundu), Namibia (via Vioolsdrift), Eswatini, Lesotho, and Malawi. We deal with the SARS export clearance, the destination country customs entry through our agent partners, COMESA certificates, and abnormal load permits where needed.
Send us your commercial invoice, packing list, and either the bill of lading (sea) or air waybill (air). We’ll come back the same working day with an itemised quote: customs duty, VAT, port handling, transport, and our clearing fee — all with the actual landed cost figure. No “TBC” line items, no surprises three weeks later.
Yes — we’re a SARS-accredited customs clearing agent with direct access to the SARS EDI gateway for entry submissions. We handle classification queries, valuation queries, customs stops, and post-entry adjustments directly with SARS without needing to pass them back to you.
Yes — we have access to SARS-approved bonded warehouse facilities in Durban. This lets you defer customs duty and VAT until goods leave the bond (useful for slow-turn stock), or re-export goods with no SA duty payable at all (useful if you’re distributing into other African markets). See our Bonded Warehousing page for details.

Got cargo to move?

Send us your shipment details — commercial invoice, packing list, BL or AWB — and we’ll come back the same working day with a real quote. Honest, itemised, landed cost.
